Just One Thing To Know

Matthew 6:10b: . . . Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Philippians 2:1: For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

When we are at odds with the will of our Creator life is difficult. The thing we should fear about Him is getting out of His will.

Proverbs 13:15: Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

When life and problems get so complicated that we don*t know where to turn or what to do there is only one thing we need to know and only one thing we need to do. God*s will. He knows that we are often only capable of knowing one thing at a time and only doing one thing at a time. Some of you may be multi-taskers but I am not one of those. I can only put one foot at a time in front of the other. If I do one right thing at a time, the next thing I know I have done two right things. Habits are formed one step at a time.

2 Corinthians 11:3: But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

God makes His will abundantly available. We are the ones who reject it. We are the ones who make our lives complicated and difficult.

Psalms 32:8: I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Psalms 48:14: For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

Psalms 73:24: Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

Isaiah 58:11: And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

John 16:13: Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Isaiah 30:1: Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

Romans 12:1-2: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Our greatest needs are God*s will and guidance. It is strange indeed that we can trust Him for eternal life and His provision of lesser needs but not trust Him to provide us with our greatest needs.
